The importance of continuing education and self-improvement should be one of the foremost priorities of everyone aspiring to live the Undeferred Life. To get you started on the right foot, I’ve compiled some of my favorite resources below. Here you’ll find useful information and tools that will assist in the mental and physical development you need to slowly move beyond the status quo and begin Living Undeferred.

Blogs
- Seth Godin- (Business & Education) Seth Godin is largely regarded as one of the leading minds in the world when it comes to marketing and business. His insights are years ahead of their time and as insightful as they are wise. Seth delves into how our world is changing before our eyes and more importantly, how we can thrive in the newly emerging age instead of drowning. I enjoy nothing more than waking up everyday to his new insights and perspectives on destroying the status quo, receiving (and giving) inspiration, and meeting the future with open arms.
- The Art of Unconformity- (Business/Travel) On a mission to travel to every country on earth, founder of the Wold Domination Summit, best-selling author, and unconventional lifestyle guru; Chris is the epitome of a person living the Undeferred Life. From the best travel tricks in the industry to startup advice for the aspiring entrepreneur, I love how Chris shows his brilliant insight through a down to earth, practical approach to living an extraordinary life.
- Lean gains- (Health) One of the leading voices in the intermittent fasting revolution and a personal hero, Martin Berkhan interprets the leading scientific research into healthy practical advice that is easy to integrate into any lifestyle. I’ve been following his blog for a while now and I have to say it by far one of the best written health blogs on the net. It is filled with no bullshit approaches to looking awesome without the suffering often associated with dieting; exactly what undeferred health is all about. From deep science for those who are truly passionate, and practical advice for those who simply want change; LeanGains provides it all.
- Gary Taubes- (Health) First blowing the ceiling off popular diet health with “Good Calories, Bad Calories” with the follow-up “Why We Get Fat and What to Do about it,” Gary Taubes is one of the top leaders against the purported health food guidelines (Less fat, more grains) suggested by the USDA for the greater part of the last decade. For nerds like me who love a deeply scientific approach to nutrition and health, there is no better place to go.
- Fluent in three Months- Benny the Irish Polyglot is somewhat of a legend in the language learning community; going from a complete language learning failure, to a hyperglot fluent in over ten different languages and running the number one language blog on the planet; all within a few years. His approach entails speaking from day one and interacting as much as possible with other language speakers, no matter how basic your apprehension of the language is (I’ll be the first to admit it’s not easy to get over the awkwardness at first, but it sure as hell works!)
- Zen Habits- (Lifestyle) Of all the lifestyle blogs out there this could very well be my favorite. Leo combines an eloquent writing style with clearly defined ideas to make this minimalist blog one of the best I have come across. Clear, concise, thought-provoking advice that will surely touch your life in one way or another.
- The 4 Hour Workweek Blog- (Business/Lifestyle/Health/Travel) The pioneer of “Lifestyle Design” and author of the “Four Hour Work Week,” Tim Ferriss is all about getting the most out of life through “Life Hacks” and other efficiency methods for living the life on your own terms. From traveling the world and learning languages, to freeing yourself from your job through “muse” businesses and automatic income, to becoming a “super human” of fitness and health, Ferriss has led the way in creating a fulfilling life through self-learning and entrepreneurship.
- The Gates Notes- (Book Recommendations) Bill Gates shares his reading recommendations and thoughts on a wide variety of topics. A great to find a new read or discover a little more about the insights behind one of the world’s richest men.
Tools and Apps
- Lift- (Productivity) One of the newest productivity apps on the market, I was pleasantly surprised to find Lift much more conducive to my life and habit-forming rituals than anything else I’ve tried. It turns habit creation into a sort of game, or challenge, if you will. Furthermore, it allows you to easily track your progress and updates you on your progress (or lack thereof). I currently have Lift tracking my progress for reading, language learning, sleep times, nutrition, writing, and more. Surely my newest favorite in productivity apps, Lift is a great resource to all who are looking to enhance their productivity, lifestyle, and attainment of the Undeferred Life.
- Mango Languages- (Language Learning) While not as well-known as some of the other online language platforms, Mango, in my experience, provides some of the best Basic – Intermediate lessons money can buy (Even better, you get the entire level 1 course for free through your local library!). From basic grammar to useful phrases and cultural subtleties, Mango provides a unique application experience that allows you to quickly become familiar with a language and its tenants. If you are new to a language there is no better place to start.
- Memrise- (Language Learning) For intermediate to advanced learners who are already familiar with grammar and more complex tenants of a language and simply want to expand their vocabulary (through the roof), there is no better place to go. Memrise is the best timed repetition learning application I have come across and a lifesaver when it comes to the often boring process of trying to increase your vocabulary in a foreign language.
